I like it, remains tech and creepy. People have strong problems to accept the fact of not everthing from the comic books translated well for the reality, and the Green Goblin look is one of them.

I still think it needs some sort of mask/helmet. At least some goggles would be nice. Other than that, it looks decent. I still think Gwen is going to live through The Amazing Spider-Man 2. They’re just hinting at it WAAAAYY too much. They’re smarter than that. Which means, they want us to go watch it thinking she will die but she won’t.

You think that Gwen will live? I thought I was the ONLY one. Yeah, I totally agree with you. I mean she’s wearing the cheesy dress from the comics in one scene. It just screams misdirection. If she is killed off, I bet it will be in an unexpected way, not like how it was in the comic book story. They do have to make room for the redhead (Mary Jane), after all.

If they are killing her off, it’ll be in the third movie, my guess. And yeah, probably in an unexpected way. I know Mary Jane is Peter’s soul mate and all that but I love Emma Stone as Gwen, I hope she doesn’t get replaced with MJ :(

Gwen getting replaced by MJ is inevitable. Emma Stone is awesome though. And SPOILERS: I think Felicity Jones is totally Felicia Hardy.

Yeah, I think she’s Felicia Hardy too. I wonder how this version of Black Cat will be like. She’s supposed to be Harry’s girlfriend in this movie. I hope she becomes a badass Black Cat at some point!

She’s NOT getting killed off! I just watched that little two minute featurette video. Gwen tells Peter she might be moving to England because she’s up for a scholarship at Oxford! They’ll tease the death but just have her go off to college in England. And there you have it.

At least I won’t have to suffer through scenes of her death, funeral, etc. That’s actually a cool explanation for why she won’t return. Pretty bad they spoiled it in a featurette if it’s true. I feel like they’ve spoiled almost everything about this movie already and it hasn’t come out :P

No, she’s going to be killed off. Her death was one of the biggest turning points in comic book history, solidified the Green Goblin as Spider-Man’s arch enemy and almost turned Spider-Man into a villain himself.
Marc Webb is a huge Spider-Man comic fan, the cast have said they are following the Gwen Stacy storyline by the book, and it only makes sense since her death follows her return from London in the comics.
I do think she’ll die in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, her apartment number was revealed in the first movie to be ‘2016’, (TASM3’s release year). It may not mean anything, but Webb apparently has a thing for numerical symbolism so it would only make sense.

Interesting observation you made with the ‘2016’ thing. But I bet like Gwen wearing the “outfit” from the comics, it means nothing. Alright so, a couple things. First, what makes you think that Marc Webb will follow the storyline from the comics? He hasn’t so far. In The Amazing Spider-Man, before his death, Captain Stacy tells Peter to stay away from Gwen. In the comics, he tells Peter to take care of Gwen (which of course, he ends up failing to do so). Another thing, do you really think that Gwen’s neck will SNAP resulting in her dying in Spider-Man’s arms?!! That’s too dark for the tone of that movie franchise. NO WAY, they go there.

You could be right, but on-screen deaths are nothing new for Spider-Man movies, those movie looks like it will begin bright and colourful, and end very, very dark.
One thing’s for sure though, a lot of us are sick of this whole ‘too dark’ boloney being thrown around. A lot of the Spider-Man comics were dark and contained some deranged stuff, that’s the stuff that needs to be translated to the big screen. When are these things going to stop being marketed to kids? It ruins so many aspects of the Spider-Man character and sucks because the majority of Spider-Man fans have been around for decades.

Too dark?
In Ultimate Spider-Man comics [*****SPOILER ALERT*****] Carnage, as an emerging fetus, through biological memory (symbiote was formerly on Peter Parker), identifies Gwen Stacy and EATS her.
Seriously. Consumes her.
How’s that for too dark (and some more Spidey guilt?)
Spider-Man is fantastic and one of my favourite heroes because there is a perfect blend of dark and lighthearted tone. But make no mistake, he is a tragic hero. He is not all colourful the way the current Marvel movies are, and Avengers was.
In The Amazing Spider-Man (movie), Spidey was shot in the leg by a cop. Serious business, but nothing extreme. However, in the early parts of The Ultimate comics, he’s trying to help and the police take him as an enemy, and open fire. He’s hit, and the issue ends with him surrounded by cops in a puddle of his own blood.
They may change the manner in which Gwen dies, but if Marc Webb is taking inspiration from Ultimate and they have plans to bring MJ in, it’s a certainty that Gwen’s days are numbered.
I would be seriously surprised if she lives through this movie to be honest.

I TOTALLY agree with you. I’ve recently learned from someone who’s seen a rough cut of the film, that Gwen does indeed die in the movie. In fairness all the build-up and hype to The Dark Knight Rises screamed at fans that Batman was going to be broken by Bane and, well, that happened.
Gwen leaving for Oxford tells me the opposite: Peter is going to lose her one way or the other.
I’m of the belief that she will die – which is why they cut MJ out for me. Makes sense to focus on Gwen and Peter – and MJ will be around after to help Peter out of his dark place.

Bane breaking Batman’s back in The Dark Knight Rises was confirmed in the trailers because it showed Bane beating up Batman in the sewers and then it showed a beat up Batman in a bed with Bane beside him, taunting him. It wasn’t “Will he break Batman’s back?” it was a “He WILL break Batman’s back”. At least to almost every Batfan that’s how it was.
Hm. Not sure. I don’t know why he would be called the Green Goblin if he bears little resemblance to one. Honestly, he looks more like a dirty engineer than a Goblin. However: this is not to say I hate the look. He looks pretty awesome. I just can’t quite accept him as the new Green Goblin. So I’m still stuck in the middle.

Eh, he hasn’t been officially referred to as the ‘Green Goblin’ yet, that’s fan speculation. He’s most likely a movie adaptation of the Proto-Goblin.
It doesn’t seem like it sucks, but I gotta see the film to get a solid opinion
